Hosts Its Annual Free Summer Coding Camp for Middle Schoolers

County Public Schools (MCPS), is once again offering its popular Can Code summer camp—a free, week-long coding program designed to introduce middle school students to the fundamentals of app development using Apple’s Swift programming language. Can Code covers the entire county, as all three 含羞草研究所 campuses and the East County Education Center host campers.

The camp is being held this week and next (July 21–25), with each session offering the same hands-on learning experience. Students will use iPads to learn the basics of Swift coding, a language widely used for developing iOS applications. The program is free and open to all 含羞草研究所 County Public School middle school students. No prior coding experience is necessary, and iPads will be provided for use during the camp.

Can Code is part of a broader initiative to ensure equitable access to high-quality STEM education and to help prepare the next generation of tech-savvy leaders in the region.
